The Powerful People

This is a link to a review of a piece that Miguel Guitierrez and The Powerful People toured last year called "Last Meadow."

This is one of my favorite performance groups... part performance art, part choreography, all awesomeness.

Laurie Anderson

This is a great article about Laurie Anderson... also talks a bit about how she likes composing for dogs.  Reminded me a little bit of the work that Diane and also Ben have done.

Speaking of performance art...

Here's an article about Marina Abramovic and Ulay during "The Artist is Present at MOMA".  Totally awesome footage.

Situationists in a clump

Situationists caught mid-devires... or maybe just walking.  Hard to tell.

Chris Burden and the limits of art

An interesting article about Chris Burden;

"An efficient test of where you stand on contemporary art is whether you are persuaded, or persuadable, that Chris Burden is a good artist."

You can find the article here.
One of Burden's controversial works is "Shoot" where he was shot by his assistant as a part of the performance.
An ethical critique of Burden's Shoot is here.
