A one to two page (500 word maximum) single spaced Creative Statement about your general life experiences and creative experience, your creative influences and interests, the art historical context of your work, why you think the Intermedia MFA program is a good fit for you.
This statement must address your professional goals and the nature of your current work. Additionally we ask that you address how this program and Intermedia in general will facilitate and model your studio praxis. The statement should detail your major area of technical proficiency, a secondary area of technical acuity.
-12-20 samples your work on CDs or DVDs -each work should be labeled as: LastName_FirstName_Title_Date number Each work and provide an accompanying list of works with full work information.
-images should be in .jpeg formal -written work (stories, articles and essays should not exceed 20 pages each (unless it is a book) -audio work should be in mp3 -video or other time based work should be in .mov format -all programming works or executable works should be self-contained and playable as stand alone files. -no files are to exceed 1200px in any dimension
Graduate School Application Form and Fee
The Graduate School application form must be filled out completely and submitted directly to the Graduate School.

Official transcripts (displaying the registrar’s signature and school seal) of all undergraduate and/or graduate study indicating satisfactory completion of an undergraduate degree program. These can be sent together in sealed envelopes with materials or separately (we will do our best to match letters to applicants, but make no guarantees).
If you are a foreign student completing requirements for a Diploma, rather than a degree, before your application can be reviewed you must submit a written application prepared by an appropriate official at the school you are attending verifying the status of the diploma to be the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in the United States. All foreign academic credentials must be translated into English.
Letters of Recommendation
You should have three original, recently dated, letters of recommendation sent to the Graduate School from people familiar with your professional or scholastic work. These should be written by professors, instructors, or professional people with whom you have recently worked or studied. These letters are required. A form is available here or the recommender may use their own letterhead.
TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language
Official report of scores achieved on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for all international applicants whose native language is not English. The Graduate School requires a minimum score of 550 on TOEFL or equivalent score on the computer-based (CBT) or internet-based (iBT) TOEFL. To be awarded a Teaching Assistantship, applicants must have achieved a 580 or equivalent score on the CBT. Applicants with TOEFL scores below 550 or equivalent will be required to take English language training.
- Graduate Record Examination
GREs are not required, but MFA/MA candidates are encouraged to submit them if they have taken them.
Return postage is required if you would like your portfolio returned to you. Please send a self-addressed envelope appropriate to the safety of the contained materials and stamped with appropriate postage. Foreign students should send postal coupons to cover return postage. Portfolios will be returned before May 20th (for the students who are not accepted for admission).
