Grants and Fellowships

There are many sources for grant funds for graduate students in the Intermedia MFA Program.  Please take a moment to look through our growing list of grants that include funding from local, regional, national and international sources.  If you are new to grant writing there are several great online resources that you can check out to help get you started.

Grant Writing 101

GSG Individual Grant
The GSG Individual Grant is open once a semester and offers up to $850 per student application.  The GSG maintains an informational website that shows students how to write a grant and includes examples of both good and bad grant writing styles and common mistakes.

Maine Philanthropy Center
The Maine Philanthropy Center is a Maine-based philanthropic association that helps put grant makers into contact with grant seekers.  Here you will find lots of information about grants in Maine.

Grant Space
Grant Space is a service offered by the Foundation Center and has many valuable resources fro grant seekers in the non-profit world.  Here you can find lots of information on how to write an effective grant proposal.

Foundation Center
The Foundation Center is a well respected leader in philanthropy and has many resources on every aspect of grant writing imaginable.  The University of Maine Fogler Library has a membership through the Foundation Center.  Go to the help desk and ask how to log on.  From there you will have access to the Foundation Center database, which lists tens of thousands of grants and opportunities.
